MPhil Dissertation Research - Siliceous lithic provenance
This project focused upon exploring the possibilities of provenancing (just a fancy word for sourcing) siliceous lithics (like cherts, jaspers, and agates) in the archaeological record, in new and non-destructive ways. Utilizing a range of methods, this research elucidated viable opportunities for further research into how the micromorphology of the materials could connect to geographic location more accurately than traditional chemical analysis alone. Be on the future lookout for further publications which explain much more!
