Created for my Geobiology course, this scientifically based movie details the importance of the Castle Rock Rainforest site, located in Castle Rock, Colorado, in enhancing our understanding of the earth after the KT extinction (which decimated the dinosaurs as well as eighty percent of all other species on earth). The movie also explains the significance of the Castle Rock site being the only veritable rainforest-like site with such high diversity in North America during the Paleocene, and involves photos and information we gathered while on the class trip to Denver, Colorado.
Je Suis Médecin is a film I created for one of my French language courses. The short film describes the odd happenings in the office of a doctor who's attempts, while meant well, are slightly misinformed.

MoviesThroughout the years, I have written, directed, and edited a fair number of movie projects for my coursework and external activities. Through doing so, I have found that I greatly enjoy creating these movie projects in order to exhibit my understanding of the course material in a creative and interesting manner. Included here are a few of my favorite projects I have created throughout the years.
(Each movie was written, directed, and edited by me.) This documentary was created for my AP World class and describes the life of Saint Joan of Arc, and the trials and tribulations which she encountered as one of the leaders during the One Hundred Years War. The documentary moves through Joan's early life through to her death at the hands of the English when she was only nineteen.

This I Believe
One of the assignments for my Rhetoric and Civic Life course was to create a writing piece, and from that a podcast, about something which we believed. I chose to use this as an opportunity to illustrate my belief in the importance of stories, including the stories of our earth and the people upon it which we can understand through archaeology, and how being a part of the excavation at Tel Akko helped me to better realize and understand my interest and understanding of both human history and archaeology in general.
Far From Home
This is a VoiceOver recording of a story I told about being a new international student starting a PhD in a foreign country during the era of COVID-19. I display the troubles I thought I'd be faced with vs. the ones that actually reared their ugly heads, and I talked about my experiences finding community during the tough year. I bring this to light in the hopes of inspiring others to reach beyond the bounds of their comfort zones and try to find aspects of community that they love, no matter where they may be.
Advocacy Project
As a part of RCL the students needed to complete an advocacy project based upon a need we saw reflected throughout our community. As a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) triple major who is currently in the planning stages of her sixth study abroad experience with Penn State, ninth overall, my topic, concerning advocating for the increase in the numbers of STEM students who are able to study abroad at some point within their undergraduate career, is close to my heart. As a result, I created a project which could work to exhibit the wonderful opportunities through Penn State which students within the STEM community could take advantage of without placing themselves behind in achieving their academic and other collegiate goals.
